There is no doubt that a foreigner staying in Japan coming back to his own country for a while is regarded as going home to visit his family. However, if you visit other countries, please refer to the following.

Hotel
    Types of class, place and type of the hotel.
    Additionally types of rooms and view rooms. Please know the basic conditions of the hotel.
     Type of rooms
      Single room 
       Three cases for one person using one room:
      ・The room with only one single bed.
      ・The room with one large bed.
      ・The room with two beds.
      ※If one uses a room with 2 single beds or a large bed, it is considered as [single using], and the price is same with two beds and a large bed.

  Double room 
       Two persons live in the same room together with two separate beds.

  Single room with large bed
       Two persons live in the same room together with a queen-size bed or an extra-large bed.

  Three-person room
       Three adults live in a double room or large-bed room together.
       Then not preparing three beds in a room but adding beds in a large-bed room or double room.
       Usually the sofa bed or rollaway bed is available, with additional charges sometimes. 
       ※Beds can be added for short of beds in different hotels or periods. 
          Please note that the room will turn small if the beds are added.

Eating
   You can enjoy eating when traveling, and choose to have a taste in local special cooked dishes, high class hotel or eat in booth and other places. In order to enjoy the local cooked dishes better, please know the reservation methods and etiquette first.

Reserving a hotel
    If you want to eat in famous restaurants or high class hotels, you had better make reservation first in Japan in order to avoid the case of all seats being booked up.

You can reserve in Japan through tour agency or by phone, fax and post box and so on.

When reserving a hotel, please accurately explain your name, expected date, numbers, hotel name and local phone number. If reserving by fax or post box, it is necessary to confirm if the reservation is available.

When reserving in the local place, you can find the concierge in the hotel for help.

Clothes
    Please bear in mind that there are special provisions for clothes in some hotels.

In high class restaurants or hotels, some formal and informal rules for clothes are formulated in order not to influence the atmosphere of the hotels. In the resort hotels, most people would not like to wear multifarious clothes but wear those clothes applicable to the rules of resort hotels. It is to be noted that people in inappropriate clothes will not be allowed to enter the hotel in Europe. Please confirm first before reservation. 

Shopping
    When traveling abroad, one goal is to buy the local famous goods or name brands.
    In foreign countries, the size is different from that of Japan, so know the weights and measures well first.
　  Etiquette
　  Do say [hello] when entering the hotel and don’t forget to say [thank you] when leaving the hotel.

 In addition, if you would like to watch some goods, please let someone know before you open it.

 VAT
　  VAT is paid by foreign visitors (and non-citizen) when buying goods.

 If coming back from Europe, Canada and Singapore and other countries, you can get back some overpayment when handling VAT formalities, therefore, please confirm whether there is a VAT system in the destination countries and ways to get back the overpayment.
